Last week I decided I was done with smoking cigarettes for good. I no longer wanted to feel that heavy chest feeling in the morning. I no longer wanted to be wheezing when I went to bed. I no longer wanted to be out of breath walking up short flights of stairs. I was done with all of it.
I headed to a local vape shop and picked up some supplies, and am happy to say I haven’t smoked in a week now.
It’s super simple to get off cigarettes with this method and in my opinion, these devices do a lot less harm to your lungs than a cigarette does. I no longer wheeze, my smokers cough is nearly gone, not to mention I no longer smell like absolute dog shit!
I’m quite happy with the decision and where I’m at. The next step would be to get off nicotine entirely, but I really do enjoy my vape / smoke throughout the day as a way to take a breather, so it will be much harder to stop entirely.
For now I am happy with the result over the course of a week, and I’ll continue to work hard on keeping off the smokes.
After watching the Nintendo Switch event I knew I was going to be purchasing one so the following morning, I hopped on to BestBuy.ca and pre-ordered mine as soon as I could.
I messed up my original order by using my shipping address as my billing address and my billing address as my shipping address. After a couple of calls to Best Buy customer service, my order was corrected and good to go with one small problem…………………..
The launch date that Best Buy has for my order and for the Nintendo Switch is March 31st? This doesn’t make any sense as the console is launching on the 3rd of March.
I’ve reached out to Best Buy on Twitter to clarifiy.
Hey @BestBuyCanada! What’s the deal with the Nintendo Switch release date? My order is showing March 31st? It realses on the 3rd?
In 2016 we’ve seen a lot of bad and a lot of good.
People have passed on, wars have been waged, and yet a kindness has come out of all of the anger and hatred that the world seems to have for itself.
Personally 2016 has been an incredible time! I started an incredible job with fantastic co-workers and incredible support from our management. My small business HostingEh has grown incredibly with some of the most fantastic clients I could have possibly asked for.
I’ve watched my little girls get a little bit older and a little bit wiser, and I get to share it all with some of the most supportive and loving friends and family!
I got to visit Toronto and watch the new Pure Pwnage movie with the most kickass people I know! Got to meet some new people too such as my new drinking buddy from England Jerry!
For me 2016 has been incredible, and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has in store!
See you all in the New Year! Have a happy, healthy and joy filled end to 2016!
I’ve been using the Asus Zenfone 3 as my daily driver for about a week now, and wanted to lay down some initial thoughts and impressions about this phone because Christmas is coming and I truly think this device is something any mobile phone fan would love.

After some strong consideration, I have actually decided to sell my Pixel and stick with the Zenfone 3. It’s a perfect phone for me that offers the features I want at a crazy attractive price point, and performs well without any stutter or lag.
Five years ago on this very day, I married my very best friend.
It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in the last five years and how much we’ve already been through in this crazy roller coaster called life. We’ve had ups and downs, we’ve loved and lost, and yet still I am happy to wake up to you each and every day.
Even though you’re often in the background of everything that’s going on, it would not be even half of amazing of a life, if you hand’t touched it with your love and kindness.
Jenn you’ve not only made my life better, but you’ve made me better as a person, as a father, and as your husband. I am thankful for each and every day that I get to wake up and spend my life with you, and that will never change.
You have the right brand of crazy that matches mine, and I cannot wait to grow old together, to watch our kids grow into adults, and marry their own best friends should they choose to.
I love you with all of who I am and ever will be! Here’s to many more years of fun and excitement on this ride that we call life!
On Friday my Google Pixel arrived at my office around 2:30, so I’ve really only had it for a few days and can’t pass a lot of judgement on it. I can however say a few things that are quite impressive so far.
Battery life is impressive. Over the weekend I was able to take the device off the charger at 4AM and get a full days use 4AM to 11PM and still had 30% remaining on the battery.
Unlimited storage. This is tied to the device and not the google account itself. Anything uploaded from your Pixel does not count towards your storage allowance.
Look & Feel. This phone looks and feels like an iPhone. A few of my coworkers made the same comment about the look & feel. It feels premium and has a great weight to it.
Updating & Installing Apps. This phone is fast, and I mean FAST! Installing and updating apps on first boot took two minutes or so. Fastest I’ve ever seen it get done.
These are just my initial feelings about this phone. I’ll write a proper review with camera samples and whatnot when I’ve had more time to play with it. Right now, I’m really liking it!
The Studio 6 Hotel in downtown Toronto is within 2 km of just about everything in Toronto. It’s a fantastic location located close to the intersection of Queen Street West and Augusta Ave.
The reason for my trip to Toronto was to meet up with some friends and to take part in Toronto Fan Expo. If you’ve never been, I would highly recommend you attend at least once in your life. It’s a fantastic convention and they seem to have worked out all of the kinks from previous years aside from navigating between the two buildings at the Metro Toronto Convention Center.
I was taking the train into town so I wanted a hotel that was relatively close to the train station and the Metro Toronto Convention Center. This weekend is a long weekend, so a lot of the hotels have jacked up their rates to profit as much as possible.
How I booked it
I booked this hotel using Hotels.com which secured me a rate of $156 a night taxes and fees included. Most other hotels this weekend were sitting around $250 per night or more not including taxes.
When I rolled up on the hotel, it was late at night (about 11:00 PM) and this was the best photo I could get at the time.
From the outside this hotel didn’t look like much. It looked a little beat down and even the inside hallways and whatnot show that this was a converted apartment complex.
It was at this point I was starting to worry about the kind of room I booked, but before we look at the room, lets talk amenities.
The room I booked came with two twin beds as I was expecting to have a friend stay with me for the weekend, however he had other plans. So for my last night, I asked if I could swap to a queen room, and the staff happily moved me. Which was nice of them as I booked through a service and not through them directly.
The room also has a kitchenette type set up with a fridge, a sink, pots and pans, plates and cutlery and everything you could need to cook up your own meals! There is also a Loblaw’s grocery store within walking distance of the hotel that is open until 11PM most nights.
The hotel also has on site laundry on each floor, however I’m not sure of the cost or anything as I didn’t use it. I would assume it is coin operated as the hotel is a converted apartment building.
Here’s a few photos I snapped of the room. Pardon the mess.
As you can see from the photos, the room looked quite nice and was fairly clean.
The paint in the bathroom was starting to peel off the wall, but I can look past that. The bed was pretty comfortable, and the kitchenette made this room even better because you could prep your own meals.
Each room also had a Keurig coffee machine which I thought was pretty nice too. It was a single cup machine, and I was easily able to obtain some coffee pods from the nearby Loblaw’s.
If you’re looking for a hotel on a budget and want to be close to downtown Toronto without paying insane downtown rates, this is a great budget choice.
That being said, if you are driving in, there is no on site parking. The closest outdoor lot is about a block away.
All things considered, this was perfect for my purposes but may not be for yours.
