Canada Post Delays My Pebble Time

16 Jun

Over the weekend I was super excited to find out that my Pebble Time had shipped via Canada Post expedited parcels that was until Canada Post dropped the ball.

My Pebble Time was received by Canada Post on June 12th for delivery. The tracking showed that not much happened over the weekend, however it showed an expected delivery date of June 15th (Monday) which is usually how long it takes for an item to travel from Toronto to Ottawa.

Apparently by Canada Posts standards, it takes 3 days to go from Scarborough to Mississauga (about an hour drive.).

Today the tracking is now showing an expected delivery date of today June 16th, but I’m not holding my breath. The parcel is still showing as in transit, so based on the length of time it took for the parcel to go from Scarborough to Mississauga, my Pebble time should be here sometime next month.

Very disappointed with Canada Post.

So I backed another smartwatch……

25 Feb

After the enormous fiasco with the Kreyos Meteor I backed several years ago, I told myself I would never EVER back another smartwatch. That is of course until Eric Migicovsky and company announced the Pebble Time yesterday.

The first generation Pebble smartwatch is the single most used smartwatch in the market today and has a fantastic developer community. I owned the original pebble for some time before deciding that it was still too early of a product for me.

The Pebble Time looks like the perfect smartwatch for me, and I am incredibly excited to see how it turns out. The features are just right, and the battery life will no doubt be fantastic.

Check out their Kickstarter video. At the time of writing, they’ve already raised 8.65 million dollars of their 500,000 dollar goal.
