Well it’s been quite a while again since I’ve posted anything on this little blog of mine. It’s been out here on the internet all alone, probably scared, and cold.
I’m back and thought I would post a little something about what I’ve been doing this year.
Career Change
While I still own and manage HostingEh.com, I am no longer running Maple Leaf Managed Services. Maple Leaf Managed services was a great idea but unfortunately my marketing and sales skills leave something to be desired. I was never able to close a deal with any of the prospects I had calls with many of which were just exploring options and had no real buying intentions. If anything they were using me to lower their IT costs with their current providers.
That being said, I landed at another managed services company called DigiVie Communications. DigiVie is a breath of fresh air as IT companies go. I’ve worked in my fair share of them across Ottawa, and while they’re small, they are mighty. Everything has a process and all of the tooling just works (most of the time) edge cases still happen.
The Kids
They are growing like weeds and becoming super cool little people.
This year Violet will be starting junior high, and Rhys will be right behind her next year! It’s crazy how fast time has gone by and how quickly these kids are coming into their own. I can’t wait to see what life brings them!
The Guild
I started a guild in World of Warcraft nearly a year ago today. Today that guild looks much different, and I am super proud of all of the work we’ve put in and how insanely it has grown from the day I founded it. We’re going to be doing some cool giveaways for the guilds one year anniversary, and as of today, Season 2 of midnight has launched. We’re about to grind Mythic 0’s until our fingers bleed.
